There was frankness in this jdorama about sexual desire: the new wife tries a number of ploys to prod her husband to initiate the physical intimacy, and he doesn’t seem altogether against the concept, but he wants her to be emotionally ready. Maybe that’s because the surprise element was gone. My second watch-through, I didn’t get as strong a feel of it being racy. It’s so short, I could do that in one afternoon. I meant to only skim, but ended up watching it a second time in its entirety. So I decided to rewatch IHMH to see if I could pinpoint what might make its presentation of the leads’ relationship a bit off. So we shall my first watch-through of In-House Marriage Honey left me with the impression that it was racier than the Kdramas we usually watch, but I bristled a bit at the word you chose–seedy–because I thought the jdorama was sweet overall. Chinese dramas tend to drag on forever and my limit is 24 episodes. The only drawback is the number of episodes. I want to see if Yang Yang can beat Lin Shen with the romantic vibes. It’s a fantasy drama involving protagonists who are masters of martial arts, protected by supernatural powers, and dressed in long flowing robes.ĭ. To me, wuxia drama is like the legends of King Arthur. I’m looking for a wuxia drama that will appeal to me. Mixing the two personalities should result in fireworks.Ĭ. Of course, the image I’ll always have of Yang Yang is that of the restrained, measured, genius Xiao Nai. I often see Zhao Lusi in roles that require her to be impulsive, exuberant, and joyful. there’s something about their public persona - or the image that they project - that seem to complement the other, like yin and yang. I’m sure I’ll like watching Zhao Lusi better than Dilraba, Yang Yang’s costar in “You Are My Glory.” Dilraba’s facial features, especially her eyes, just don’t appeal to me.ī. I’m looking forward to this Yang Yang+Zhao Lusi match-up for a few reasons:Ī. Zhao Lusi was the female lead in “Dating in the Kitchen.” Remind me to finish this drama, willya? Thanks, for updating us on Yang Yang’s latest project. Title of the drama is “Who Rules the World.” He’s starring in a new project with Zhao Lusi (aka Rosie Zhao). She looked like a person with stars in her eyes.Good news, Yang Yang fans. It was a fangirling face without any extra, OTT and ridiculous motion like a fistbump, or melting knees, or swooning. Haeri then looked back at KTW’s disappearing back and she had this hero-worship look on her face. Her satoori friend whispered in her ear that KTW also had taped their conversation as a back-up. What I like is the small movements that show introspection. I’m not a fan of Suzy (this is my first show) but if I was her fan, I’d be scratching my head watching these moments. They were upset because they thought her acting skills were under-utilized in the kdrama. That was my first time watching IU and she was impressive.Īlso I remember some fans of Park Shin-Hye. He recognized and respected IU’s acting chops. The director of Hotel del Luna didn’t treat IU like an actress-WANNABE and make her suddenly do a song-and-dance number or act like a Lolita. IU didn’t get treated this way in Hotel del Luna. If I were Suzy I’d find them demeaning because I would insist on being treated like a serious actor. See? I do wonder whether it’s fine to direct Suzy to do these aegyo scenes, even when they’re grossly out of place, because of her kpop origins. Let’s see him do something “extra” and see how THAT works for him. Or do cartwheels in the middle of the road then finish with a big heart on his head. Or lift her up in the air like she was pair of dumbbells. Let’s see his character do a hair flip or a fingerheart for her. I’d like to challenge the director, “Okaayyy. Why is it fine that Haeri is the one breaking “out of character” and doing stupid aegyo while DalGun acts all sheepish and bashful? □ Instead of a love relationship developing naturally, organically, it’s forced by her cheeseball acts. Her cutesy moments are a gimmick to highlight a romance between the two. She’s seriously hard at work, then she suddenly does these campy moves. That’s why it’s hard to take her NIS character seriously.
